I know firsthand that wedding planning can feel overwhelming. Between social media trends and “must-have” lists, it’s easy to feel like there’s a right or wrong way to do things. But here’s the truth: it’s your day. You get to decide what matters most and what your essentials really are.

As a Nebraska documentary and editorial wedding photographer and videographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing countless weddings across Nebraska and the Midwest. Over the years, I’ve put together my personal “Wedding 101” essentials—what I suggest to my brides to make sure the day runs smoothly, beautifully, and stays true to them. Everything else?
